HEM has a well-earned reputation for compassionate and caring service to its clientele. This is the result of an organized, rotating schedule of all-volunteer medical staffers, thereby providing refreshed, focused services from our staff.
What does HEM expect from the Venue Management or Promoters? For outdoor events, we use: a 30' x 30' service site clearly visible and accessible to a large crowd of patrons. Close parking for easy in/out for HEM staffers Clear in and out access from the event site to main road for emergency vehicle or transport Radios for use by HEM to communicate with rovers and venue management, with extra battery packs and hand microphones A portable, ADA compliant restroom & hand wash sinks equipped with soap and towels. Event passes to support the size of the crowd and nature of work expected Rovers at each end of the stage, rovers in barricade formation, and pairs of rovers maneuvering through the crowd. Indoor events: we use table and chairs to teat people who are wounded, victims of crowd syndrome, exhausted by heat, or suffering from lack of fresh air. Compensation HEM provides the best, most compassionate & tireless service to event patrons. We are not in the business of generating obscene revenues, but of course, there is still the reality of financial compensation we must confront. HEM needs to be appropriately compensated for its time, and promoters must consider the all-volunteer force driving the HEM engine. HEM provides from contracted fees, these amenities to our staff: quality clothing, food, lodging, and reimbursement for fuel and supplies. HEM needs to encourage volunteers from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond to give their time and knowledge to event patrons.
